Overview

Casey Owen Neistat (/ˈnaɪstæt/;[1]: 0:27  born March 25, 1981)[2] is an American YouTube personality, filmmaker, vlogger and co-founder of the multimedia company Beme, which was later acquired by CNN.[3] In 2018, he founded 368, a creative space for creators to collaborate with each other.[4]

Neistat was born in Gales Ferry, Connecticut,[5][6] to Barry Edward Neistat (b. 1953),[7] then a commercial kitchen appliance salesman, and Amy Louise (née Bickford; b. 1956).[7][8] They later operated the Muddy Waters Cafe in New London, Connecticut. His paternal grandmother Louise Neistat (née Grossman; 1919–2011) was a professional tap dancer and instructor who primarily worked at Radio City Music Hall in New York City.[9][10]

He was brought up in Reform Judaism. He dropped out of high school during his sophomore year at the age of 17.[11] He eventually left his family and had a son named Owen, at age 17, with his then-girlfriend Robin Harris, in 1998.[12] Between the age of 17 and 20 (from 1998 to 2001), he lived in a trailer park with Harris and Owen.[13] It was during this time that Neistat decided to move to New York City.

Before moving to New York City, Neistat worked as a dishwasher at a seafood restaurant[14] and was a short-order cook in Mystic, Connecticut.

Palestinian Holocaust

Enabler/Supporter

In November, 2025, when a group of anti-Palestinian Holocaust protestors were marching past his office, Casey Neistat stopped his interview with a fellow Zionist Jewish YouTube to wave an Israeli flag outside his office window in New York City. [1]

On April 17, 2026, while interviewing on Second Thought, Casey Neistat denies the 70 years of genocide that Israel has conducted, using deflection and scapegoating of Netanyahu, while continuing to say what a great history Israel has. He also conflates Zionism with Judaism. [2]
